Carolina Chickadee

I photographed this Carolina Chickadee in my yard here in Arkansas.

The Carolina Chickadee (Poecile carolinensis) is a species of chickadee that is native to North America, primarily in the southeastern United States. It is a small bird that is known for its distinctive “chick-a-dee-dee-dee” call and its ability to store food in the winter. These birds are common backyard visitors and feed on insects, seeds, and suet. They are also known for their acrobatic skills, as they are able to cling to branches and hang upside down while foraging for food.
