I was photographing the Eastern Bluebirds feeding their young when the male Bluebird showed up as the female was getting ready to leave. He just passed the food to her and she then fed the young. I caught this Carolina Chickadee removing a dirty diaper (fecal sac). The fecal sac is a mucous membrane, generally white or clear with a dark end, that surrounds the feces of some species of nestling birds. The female Carolina Chickadee sits on the eggs for almost two weeks. Another two weeks after they hatch, the young chickadees are ready to leave the nest.
