Water Moccasin In The Rocks
As I traversed the auto tour road at Oklahoma’s Sequoyah National Wildlife Refuge, I had a thrilling encounter with a Water Moccasin at the Sally Jones Causeway
Water moccasins, or cottonmouths, are a challenging but vital subject for my photography. I document their presence in Arkansas waterways and wetlands. I capture their distinctive white mouths and their predatory behavior. I observe their role in the aquatic ecosystem. I aim to show their importance as a native species and to promote respect for their role in the environment. Safety is always my priority when photographing these venomous snakes.
