An Encounter with Young Gray Squirrels in the Ouachita Forest
A wildlife photographer encounters and photographs two young eastern gray squirrels peeking out from a tree hole while hiking in the Ouachita National Forest.
Squirrels are a constant presence in my photography, especially here in Arkansas. I document their acrobatic movements and foraging habits. I capture their interactions with trees and other wildlife. I observe their seasonal behaviors, from nut gathering to nesting. I aim to show their adaptability and their vital role in seed dispersal. They are a lively part of the ecosystem.
