This Great Blue Heron was funny to watch. It kept trying to use a log that was floating in the water. It did finally keep its balance long enough to swallow the fish.
This Great Blue Heron was in an area known as Miner’s Cove (Sequoyah National Wildlife Refuge in Oklahoma). Miner’s Cove is just north of the 4-corners intersection on the west side of the road.
I had my camera and lens resting on a bean bag draped over the open window of my pickup.
