This Skink just froze on the side of this tree and let me move all around it taking photos. I’m only guessing but I think this is a Broad-headed Skink. Taken at the Arkansas River Valley Nature Center.

I am going to try and keep everyone updated every few days on how the Canada goose goslings are doing. If you look close you can see one of the Goslings looking out from under moms wing in the first photo.

Adult geese are often seen leading their goslings in a line, usually with one parent at the front, and the other at the back. While protecting their goslings, parents often violently chase away nearby creatures, from small blackbirds to humans that approach, after warning them by giving off a hissing sound.
