Although these individuals might not grow into “trophy” elk, that may be the exact genetic aid that will help them to survive. Sometimes being not quite the cream of the crop is the perfect way to enjoy a long life.

Any elk looks good to me. We don’t have them here in Maine.
Awesome set of photos. I love to go to Boxley and Ponca, Arkansas to photograph the elk in the fall when they are in the rut.
