I noticed most people spend a lot of time photographing the large elk but I wanted these guys to get a little attention.

Any elk looks good to me. We don’t have them here in Maine.

Awesome set of photos. I love to go to Boxley and Ponca, Arkansas to photograph the elk in the fall when they are in the rut.

Thanks Steve! I am glad they brought them back here in Arkansas. Thanks Jim for the comment! I am ready to listen to the elk this fall and try and get some photos. Boxley and Ponca are a great place to see and hear them. I am ready for fall now!

Another wonderful series! This little guy looks very handsome to me. I love his velvety antlers.

Thank you for the majestic rare sighting.

Although these individuals might not grow into “trophy” elk, that may be the exact genetic aid that will help them to survive. Sometimes being not quite the cream of the crop is the perfect way to enjoy a long life.

All beautiful animals.
