Steve Creek Outdoors Turns 10

By | February 15, 2017

Wow! I can’t believe I started this blog 10 years ago this past January. I actually started blogging April of 2006, but I didn’t start here at stevecreek.com until January of 2007. Back then I wanted a way to show my family and friends why I loved being outdoors all the time. After awhile I noticed other people that I didn’t know were finding this blog and were enjoying my photos and adventures.

I have enjoyed sharing my adventures in the outdoors with everyone over the years. I will have to admit that I have come close to shutting this blog down a few times. Mainly because I would rather be outdoors than at my computer. I know if I ever stopped blogging that I would miss it. I have met a lot of people over the years through this blog and consider them friends.

I have had lots of my photos published and I have even sold a few over the years and I would say that over 95% of them were found through this blog. My advice to photographers that want to get photos published would be to start a blog. I have read and believe that blogs tend to get more customers compared to those who just have a basic website. Photography blogs are cheap and definitely represent low cost marketing.

I also want to thank all the people who have become regular visitors to Steve Creek Outdoors. Like I wrote in my Biography:

Through my photos, it is my hope that you find the same passion and admiration for the wild as I enjoy each day throughout my nature walks. There truly are not enough hours in the day to capture all the beauty that nature and wildlife has to offer.

Love your blog Steve! Thank you for sharing your photography and stories . I enjoy reading and seeing what you find in the great outdoors. I have only been blogging a year this month and I know if if I stopped blogging and sharing my photos that I would for sure miss it. I hope someday that I will have the success with my photography that you have had. Thank you again!

    Steve,
Thank you for doing what I wish I would have done when I moved up here to the “wilderness” in Northwest Wisconsin! Every afternoon when I get done at the high school and I am out walking around amongst the deer I am working with, I think of you and how what you are doing is opening the wildlife and the outdoors to those who cannot walk out their back door and are lucky to be able to be with the wildlife as I am. My big victory this week is that I have “turkey-proofed” my deck bird and squirrel feeder finally! They are clever survivors who neatly clean up the corn that the deer miss. The turkeys also unpile my alfalfa pile and get it spread flat out on the ground so they can scratch in it. I think the deer like it flat anyway so that part of the daily turkey raids does not bother me… My best to you and may the gift you are giving to us all continue for a long, long time.

I LOVE your blog, wow time flies when you’re having fun 🙂 I so enjoy your photographs and learning too about the things you’ve taken pictures of. I hope you continue… as long as you do I’ll be following you (that sounds like a country song ha ha).
