It has been super hot here in Arkansas (Low 100′s) so I decided to visit Lock and Dam Number 13 which is just a few miles from my home (Arkansas River). Most of the time I can find some great bird action around the Dam but if not I can always watch people fishing.
I was watching this Snowy Egret catching Dragonflies out of the air which is just amazing. Dragonflies are some of the fastest insects in the world.
Tomorrow I will post more photos of this Snowy Egret with a larger Dragonfly: A Snowy Egret Eating A Large Dragonfly

Thanks everyone! These birds have gotten use to the people fishing so they have been easy for me to photograph.
Amazing bird! Wouldn’t he look handsome in a top hat and bow tie? These shots make me smile. Thanks!
