Opossum Photo To Be Shown On The Smithsonian Network

This photo will be used in the television series entitled “Stories from the Vaults” for Smithsonian Networks.

Currently, we are producing a show on STRI, the Smithsonian Tropical Research Center, located in Panama. At one point during the show, we discuss the immigration of various species into North America via the Isthmus of Panama. We specifically mention the opossum as one of the four surviving species in North America to have made the migration from South America. We came across several of your photos on flickr while searching for good images of opossums to potentially use in our program.

My name is Steve Creek and I am a photographer from Lavaca, Arkansas. I am always outdoors walking around with a camera so I decided to get serious about taking nature photos while on my adventures. My favorite area to view wildlife is at Fort Chaffee, Arkansas. I also like walking around Wells Lake and the Arkansas River Valley Nature Center. Thank you for visiting my photoblog.
