Opossum Photo To Be Shown On The Smithsonian Network

This photo will be used in the television series entitled “Stories from the Vaults” for Smithsonian Networks.

Currently, we are producing a show on STRI, the Smithsonian Tropical Research Center, located in Panama. At one point during the show, we discuss the immigration of various species into North America via the Isthmus of Panama. We specifically mention the opossum as one of the four surviving species in North America to have made the migration from South America. We came across several of your photos on flickr while searching for good images of opossums to potentially use in our program.

Wow great pic!

You might like to share it at the Smithsonian Channel Community – http://www.smithsonianchannelcommunity.com. It is a social network we launched recently to support the channel.

Stories from the Vault have their own profiles and some videos in there as well: http://community.smithsonianchannelcommunity.com/storiesfromthevault

Hope to see you in the Community!

Awesome Steve! My favorite is the “Opossum Photo To Be Shown On The Smithsonian Network.” He appears to be saying: “I’m up a tree and there’s no one to BAIL me out!” There are so many children and adults that would never have an opportunity to see the sights you have captured in your photo’s. Congratulations and keep up the wonderful work. May the Lord Jesus Christ bless you in all you do, and may many many see the sights you have to share.
