Oklahoma Sunrise Self Portrait

Sunrise Self Portrait

Watching The Sunrise

Beginning the day with a sunrise over the Arkansas River before my nature walk into the woods to photograph wildlife is one of my most favorite things to do. This self portrait was taken on the bank of the Arkansas River at the Sequoyah Wildlife Refuge in Oklahoma.

“The grand show is eternal. It is always sunrise somewhere; the dew is never dried all at once; a shower is forever falling; vapor is ever rising. Eternal sunrise, eternal dawn and gloaming, on sea and continents and islands, each in its turn, as the round earth rolls.”

John Muir
