I posted a photo of this same American Kestrel yesterday but I wanted to make a trip back to the Sequoyah National Wildlife Refuge to see if this Kestrel would let me try and get a better photo. I had an idea of where its favorite perches were so my plan was to just sit at these locations and wait for the Kestrels arrival. As you can see by the below photos, my plan worked.
I also have decided to post what I think are my best photos at 500px. Be sure to visit this site and let me know what you think. Check out some of the other Photographers as well. You will be amazed at what you will find on that site: Steve Creek On 500px

Great shots. One of my favorite birds!
These are wonderful!
Beautiful shots. I love Kestrals.
Really nice shots Steve
This one is still missing in my list.
Happy you got it good.
What beautiful markings, thanks to your photos I can now see them so well.
What a little ham. You pegged him.
Thanks everyone!
Stunning bird! Great captures!
Lovely photos of a great little bird – one made a nest in my owl next box one year and had five babes – what a treat that was. We caught one on the Christmas bird count yesterday but it was not near enough for my little pocket camera to do it justice… one day a better camera with a long lens so I can work at getting better photos… will check you out on 500px – should be fun!
This little stunner is definitely modeling for you.
Beautiful photos.
I have never seen one nesting. That would be a treat.
I love Kestrels! They have such adorable faces
. Great shots!
Thank you Tiffanie!
