Groundhog Day 2017

By | February 2, 2017

Happy Groundhog Day 2017! Punxsutawney Phil would not be seeing his shadow here at my place in the Ouachita National Forest of Arkansas. It was raining when I got up this morning and it should be cloudy when the sun rises. I’m not sure if the clouds will clear here today or not. It has been spring like weather here for a couple of weeks. I am seeing Butterflies and flowers already.

I photographed this Groundhog back in 2008 near the Janet Huckabee Arkansas River Valley Nature Center here in Arkansas. It was walking on the side of the road and I was able to get several photos before a crowd showed up and the Groundhog went into a hole.

Punxsutawney Phil did see his shadow today, so 6 more weeks of winter.
