A Blue Grosbeak On A Sunflower

A Dickcissel On A Sunflower

They have planted a large field of Sunflowers at the Sequoyah National Wildlife Refuge in Oklahoma. I was able to see a Blue Grosbeak and a Dickcissel using the flowers for a perch.

I’m not seeing as many Dickcissels this year as I have been the past few years.

Thanks for sharing. I have never seen either of these birds in real life. Maybe I need to spend some time in Oklahoma

Beautiful captures of beautiful birds, wonderful lighting on bird photos. The field of sunflowers just make me smile with their bight yellow faces.

Thanks everyone for the kind words. I think this is the first time I have seen the Refuge plant so many sunflowers. I hope they continue.
