Yesterday I posted photos of a couple of large Bull Elk that I was able to observe sparring: Great Time For Elk Watching Here In Arkansas
Today I am posting more photos of the Elk that I was able to photograph this past weekend at the Buffalo National River.
Note: The Bull Elk in the last photo has a large injury that’s not visible in the photo but it does seem to be healing.

Hello.
You have some amazing photos & I consider you to be very fortunate to be living in a part of the World that brings you closer to nature & natural beauty. Keep up the good work.
Geoff
Beautiful creature! Great shots..Love the first one with the steam.
Thank you both for the kind words and yes I am fortunate Geoff!
Until I started following your blog, I had no idea Arkansas had this kind of wildlife. I assumed that all the big elk were out west.
Wow. The last one is my favourite in this series. Wonderful colours and mood. Kind regards
Arkansas did good by bringing the Elk back.
Thanks Suzie!
A magnificent looking creature! The first and last photos are my favorites, though all are outstanding.
The last photo is really special of the grand older elk, even with his injury he is majestic, proud and imposing. Your photograpjy captured them so well.
Really enjoyed your elk photos as well as all others! I love the Buffalo River area and own some land and a little cabin not too far from there. We go to look for elk any time we’re in the area. Never get photos like yours, though : )
Great shots Steve, I especially like that last one.
