I have said this many times but I am just amazed at what the Eastern Bluebirds bring to the nest to feed the young. I don’t think they miss anything that crawls or flies within several hundred yards of the nest. It doesn’t take long for the male or female to return back with a beak full of something to eat.

Steve: Gorgeous photos as usual. I love watching my bluebirds tend to their young in my backyard. I rarely can grab such a wonderful photo, however. It is particularly touching to see them both land on the fence, with insects in their mouths waiting for the chicks to start chirping. Then one flies in to feed the young, while the other waits and watches, and then they switch roles. Thanks for sharing your photos.
Fantastic bluebird photographs! Great close-ups! Beautiful birds. Our bluebird youngsters just fledged last week. My fingers are crossed that the adult pair will have another brood in the same nest box. Last year they had three successful broods!
So beautiful! It almost looks like it’s been painted with watercolors.
We don’t see bluebirds here (small yard in town with lots of trees/hedges), so I love to see pictures from others. Great capture!
Wonderful, they are so beautiful.
Very fine detail that you have captured. Thanks for sharing those with us.
Steve: Beautiful photo. What type zoom lens are you using?
I was using the Canon 500 f4 on the above birds.
Beautiful, just beautiful as always
Wonderful colours and details!
