Like all pit vipers, the copperhead is an ambush predator: it takes up a promising position and waits for suitable prey to arrive. In the southern United States, they are nocturnal during the hot summer months, but are commonly active during the day during the spring and fall.
My name is Steve Creek and I am a photographer from Lavaca, Arkansas.
I am always outdoors walking around with a camera so I decided to get serious about taking nature photos while on my adventures. My favorite area to view wildlife is at Fort Chaffee, Arkansas. I also like walking around Wells Lake and the Arkansas River Valley Nature Center.
