Dragonflies at rest hold their wings horizontally or occasionally slightly down and forward.

Hi Steve:

I’m curious as to why you’ve taken pics of Dragonflies. Can you honestly tell me the truth about your interest in them?

Lisette, I go on nature walks and enjoy taking photos of anything that I see. Here in Arkansas you will see lots of Dragonflies during the month of August.
Dragonflies are very difficult to photograph so I like the challenge. They are also cool looking.
