I made a trip to the Buffalo National River this past Saturday to photograph the elk. It was foggy when I arrived but I think the fog adds to the photos.
I want to thank Michael Dougherty (Arkansas Wildlife Photography) for keeping everyone updated on where and what the elk are doing in Boxley Valley. I suggest if anyone is interested in making a trip to the Buffalo National River to check out Michael’s site. He does a great job on keeping everyone updated on what the wildlife are doing. He is also an awesome photographer.

Beautiful as always & the fog is really an enhancement to the photos. Great Job Creek
Absolutely gorgeous!
I agree. The fog adds atmosphere. Great shots.
Steve, those photos are wonderful!
Thanks everyone!
Great shots as always, When we were up there we thought we was gping to catch to bull elks spare but they never did. The fog does add to the pics.
Amazing shots!!all three of them.
Amazing! We have a lot of fog here in California, but I find that it always blurs the subjects. I will have to experiment to see if I can use your technique of using the fog to your advantage.
Elizabeth, remember that when in auto focus your camera will focus on the fog most of the time. If you can use manual focus and see if that helps.
Great shots! I love the effect fof the fog. It’s great! Thanks for the tip in the comment above about the autofocus vs manual in fog. Never even though about that.
I was there that same Saturday I think. I was the guy you let look through your 500.
I also saw a bachelor herd a little East of Jasper by the Carver access to the
Buffalo. Nice shots on a foggy morning.
