I took a trip to the Buffalo National River here in Arkansas this past Saturday to photograph the Elk. I will post a few photos of the Elk this week and I hope you enjoy them.

Wow Steve! Those photos a beautiful. I find elk to be very majestic looking. And this one does not disappoint. Thank you. You sure do live in God’s country!
When were the elk reintroduced into Buffalo National River? Wonderful photo of an mature elk! Thanks.
The elk is “majestic looking” as Lili states and the picture is complete with the beautiful fall color. The first photo is breath taking. I LOVE it. All the things I love in this photo with the water, fall trees hanging over the water, the rocks and the slight reflection of the trees in the water. This has made my day!!
Thank you very much Lili!
Bill, between 1981 and 1985, the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission released 112 Western Elk in Newton County near the Buffalo National River.
Thanks Maria!
What a beautiful place!!
Your photos show all the reasons I fell in love with The Natural State way back in l976 while driving from Florida to Calif. It has never failed to impress nor does it ever disappoint me. I am so proud to call Arkansas my home once again after being away 15years. Anyone who says negative things about this state just doesn’t like the “good life”!!! Thanks Steve for the beautiful reminder.
Awesome!
Thanks everyone for the great comments!
