A Snowy Egret Eating A Dragonfly

Yesterday I posted photos of this same Snowy Egret with a Dragonfly (Snowy Egret With A Dragonfly). What I noticed is that birds do not like to eat the wings and they will go through a lot of trouble to remove them. You can see in the above photos that this Snowy Egret has caught a large Dragonfly and it is trying to get rid of the wings.

I got to watch a Great White Egret eat a crab..will post photos soon..He didn’t try to remove anything..dunked him repeatedly then swallowed..could see crab moving in his throat. Very interesting about the wings..Snowies must be more fastidious..
