A Great Horned Owl

Yesterday I posted photos of when I first saw this Great Horned Owl With a Gopher. The photos show the Owl flying away from me. As I was leaving the area the Owl flew back toward me with the Gopher and it landed on a stump just a few steps away. I was able to get a few closeup photos before it flew away to another tree where it began eating the gopher.

Thanks everyone! I actually had to move away from the Owl to get these photos because it was to close for my long lens. Tomorrow I will post photos of a Barred Owl I took this same day catching Crawdads.

Absolutely great series, yesterday & today. You are truely blessed! Loved Capt. Elaine’s comment, and I think she’s right. Amazing how he wanted you to see his catch and came so close to you, apparently for most wildlife your posture & scent is not a threat. Congrats!
