   Lisa, be sure to check tomorrow for an even closer look at this Great Horned Owl. This was the first time for me to be able to photograph one. I always hear them at night.

   WOW Steve. NOW I understand the excitement. These are great, except for the poor little gopher. #1 is my favorite. He’s posing for you. Of course, we all know that wouldn’t be a first.

   Superb captures, Steve! We’ve seen Great Horned Owls up in the trees but always obscured by limbs. To see one out in the open like this must have been quite a treat. I most definitely will not miss tomorrow post!

    For perspective, how big is this owl?! Was it a baby gopher?

    Thanks Sharon And they are from 18-27 inches and yes the gopher was full size.
