2010 Refuge Photo Contest Winners Announced!

By | October 20, 2010

I think everyone is well aware that the main area I go to photograph wildlife is at the Sequoyah National Wildlife Refuge in Oklahoma. This is an awesome place and from what I see from the 2010 Refuge Photo Contest, they all are.

I try and enter this contest each year and I hope one of these days to place first but this year I will settle for an Honorable Mention. (More than 800 images taken by photographers from 44 states were submitted.)

Here are 2 photos I placed with last year: 2009 Refuge Photo Contest Image 1 and Image 2

Congratulations on your honorable mention. Given all of the wonderful photos it must have been a very difficult decision for the judges. To receive this recognition is a testament to your skills and sense of place. Thank you.

Congratulations Mr. Creek on a great Honorable Mention!!! Your awesome photos will certainly bring a first at some point. Your photos already rank “first place” to many of your daily followers. Honorable Mention is FABULOUS with the number of photos that were entered. Way to Go!!!

How awesome Steve, to be in the top 22 with so many entries. Wonder why so many were from Florida, especially Ding Darling Refuge, it is an amazing refuge but ours here in AR & OK are great too. My daughter Bethany is so proud of your armadillo photo, especially since I gave her that photo framed, for Christmas last year. Congrats once again, it’s an honor to know your work.

Congratulations Steve. That’s awesome and well deserved. So many of your photos are already award winning in my book.

Congratulations on winning honorable mention in the photography contest. It’s a good feeling when one’s work is chosen for something even though it’s not the place you wished you’d got. At least you entered! I almost have given up trying especially when there is a few that’s bit steep! Keep up the good work, my friend!
