This photo I took shows the damage lightning did to a tree in my yard. The lightning hit the tree and then traveled out through one of the roots digging a 21 foot ditch. It split the root in half near the base of the tree.

It has been super hot here in Arkansas so I have been making sure the birds have plenty of water..
